ISRO set to Launch PSLV-C54/EOS-06 Mission in November

The PLV-C54/EOS-06 Mission, which will carry Oceans-3 and eight nanosatellites, is scheduled to launch by the Indian Space Research Organization from the Sriharikota spaceport. Eight nanosatellites, including BhutanSat, "Anand" from Pixxel, "Thybolt two numbers from Dhurva Space," and "Astrocast-four numbers from Spaceflight USA," are part of the PLV-C54/EOS-06 Mission.

The Indian Space Agency`s Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre has conducted the Integrated main parachute airdrop test (IMAT).

The parachute airdrop test was conducted in Jhansi, Uttar Pradesh

The Gaganyaan deceleration system consists of three main parachutes, besides smaller ACS, pilot, and drogue parachutes.

Two of the three main chutes are sufficient to land the astronauts on earth, and the third is redundant.

The IMAT test is the first in a series of integrated parachute airdrop tests planned to simulate different failure conditions of the parachute system.

The design and development of the parachute-based deceleration system is a joint venture of ISRO and the Defence Research and Development (DRDO).

Europe announces name of world`s first disabled-astronauts

In a significant step toward enabling persons with physical limitations to work and live in space, the European Space Agency has dubbed the first-ever "parastronaut." The 22-nation organisation announced that it had selected British Paralympic sprinter John McFall to participate in a feasibility study while astronaut candidates trained to determine the prerequisites for persons with impairments to participate in upcoming missions.

Notably: McFall, who lost his right leg due to a motorcycle accident at the age of 19, won a bronze medal in the 100 metres at the 2008 Beijing Paralympic Games.

India’s 1st Integrated Rocket Facility to be Based in Telangana

The nation`s first integrated rocket design, manufacturing, and testing facility will be located in Hyderabad by Skyroot Aerospace, according to Telangana`s IT and Industries Minister K T Rama Rao.

The Hyderabad-based startup, incubated at T-Hub, launched the country`s first private rocket. Skyroot Aerospace became the first privately held company in India after the space sector was opened for the private players by the union government in 2020.

Skyroot Aerospace wants to build high-technology, low-cost, reliable launch vehicles. Its co-founders Chandana and Naga Bharath Daka previously worked with the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) as rocket scientists for about a handful of years before starting up in 2018.

The global space economy is valued at just over $450 billion, out of which India`s share is roughly about 2 per cent. The key to increasing India’s contribution to the global space output lies with the private sector.
