Purana Qila`s Heritage Walk in New Delhi

• Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya, Union Minister for Health, Chemicals, Fertilizers, and other dignitaries took part in a health heritage walk today at Purana Qila in New Delhi to raise awareness about the health benefits of walking as well as Jan Aushadhi Generic medications.
• The health heritage walks were held on the 4th day of the Jan Aushadhi Diwas weeklong celebrations in 10 cities to disseminate the message of well-being via walking and physical exercise and convey the message of quality and affordable generic medications accessible at Janaushadhi Kendras.
• The Pharmaceuticals & Medical Devices Bureau of India (PMBI) began a week-long commemoration of Jan Aushadhi Diwas on March 1, 2022, by hosting various events.
• On the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd March 2022, PMBI has already organized Jan Aushadhi Sankalp Yatra, Matri Shakti Samman, and Jan Aushadhi Bal Mitra across the country.
• The event for this year is being organized under the auspices of the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, an initiative of the GOI to commemorate 75 years of progressive India and the glorious history of its people, culture, and achievements.

Arunachal Pradesh`s Hollongi will have a greenfield airport.

• AAI has begun developing a Greenfield Airport in Hollongi, 15 kilometers from Itanagar, recognizing the importance of air connectivity to Arunachal Pradesh`s central city.
• The airport project is expected to cost Rs.645 crore, involves the construction of airport pavement, airside, terminal building, and city side works.
• This airport is designed to accommodate A-320 aircraft, with a 500-meter runway expansion planned in the future to accommodate A-321 aircraft.
• The airport`s terminal structure, which spans 4100 square meters, will accommodate 200 people during peak hours.
• The terminal building will include eight check-in counters and all current passenger amenities.
• The airport is expected to be operational on August 15, 2022.
• The terminal will be an energy-efficient structure with a rainwater harvesting system and a long-term landscape plan.

PM Launches Pune Metro Rail Project

• During his 10-minute trip on the Pune Metro, Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi launched the Pune Metro Rail Project and talked with differently-abled, visually impaired pupils present inside the metro carriage.
• The Pune Metro Rail Project costs INR 11,420 crore to construct. It is 33.2 kilometers long and contains 30 stations.
• Pune Metro is the country`s first metro system to have aluminum body coaches made in India under the government`s Make in India initiative.
• PM Modi also unveiled a statue of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj at the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) and laid the foundation stone for and inaugurated several development projects in the city.
