Jamtara is the first district in India to have a library in every village.
Jamtara, in Jharkhand, is now the country`s first district having community libraries in each gramme panchayat.
Highlights:
- This district, which has roughly 80,000 people, has 118-gram panchayats divided into six blocks, each having a well-equipped library open to students from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
- Career counseling and motivational classes are also provided at no charge. IAS and IPS officers occasionally visit these libraries to assist pupils.
- These cutting-edge locations are open to the public.
OneWeb and New Space India Limited have signed a satellite launch agreement.
One Web, a Bharti group company, and New Space India Limited, the commercial arm of the Indian Space Research Organisation, have signed a satellite launch deal.
Highlights:
- A satellite launch agreement has been inked between One Web, a Bharti group firm, and New Space India Limited, the commercial arm of the Indian Space Research Organisation.
- New Space is slated to launch in 2022 from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre (SDSC) in Sriharikota, Andhra Pradesh.
- To enable high-speed, low-latency communication, OneWeb`s entire in-orbit constellation of 428 satellites, or 66 percent of the overall fleet, will be added to the global network.
- This launch contract comes after OneWeb and SpaceX signed a separate agreement in March 2022 to allow the company to resume satellite flights.
