Narendra Singh Tomar inaugurates a National Agriculture Meeting for the 2022 Kharif Campaign.

 
Union Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar recently opened the National Conference on Agriculture for the Kharif Campaign 2022-23 at the NASC Complex in New Delhi.

  • The National Conference on Agriculture for the Kharif Campaign 2022-23 was recently opened at the NASC Complex in New Delhi by Union Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar.
  • The minister expressed his joy that the country`s total food grain output will surpass 3160 lakh tonnes, a new high, according to the 2nd Advance Estimates (2021-22).
  • Pulses and oilseeds will be produced in 269.5 lakh tonnes and 371.5 lakh tonnes, respectively.
  • According to third advanced predictions, horticultural production will reach 3310.5 lakh tonnes in 2020-21, the highest level ever for Indian horticulture.
  • The minister said that the federal government and state governments would work together to ensure the availability of pesticides and seeds, cutting farmers` input costs.

Maharashtra has introduced India`s first digital bus ticketing service.

 
Aditya Thackeray, the Maharashtra State Environment Minister, inaugurated the tap-in tap-out service on the Gateway of India to Churchgate route.

  • Maharashtra State Environment Minister Aditya Thackeray inaugurated the tap-in tap-out service on the Gateway of India to Churchgate route to make commuting across Mumbai easier.

  • Brihanmumbai Electricity Supply and Transport (BEST), according to Aditya Thackeray, is India`s first fully digital bus service.
  • All ten buses on this route will be equipped with this technology in a matter of days, and it will eventually be expanded to all 438 ways.
  • This is the country`s first-ever 100 percent digital bus service, according to Lokesh Chandra, BEST`s General Manager (GM), to increase the digitalization of the bus ticketing system.
  • Travelers can enter using their smart card or the `Chalo` app on their phones, providing convenience and comfort.
  • The tourist will obtain a receipt on their phone if they tap out using the app, and they will be able to collect their ticket if they use the smart card.

Prasar Bharati and Argentina`s Public Broadcaster signed a Memorandum of Understanding.

 
Prasar Bharati has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to collaborate in broadcasting with Argentina`s public broadcaster, Radio Television Argentina (RTA).

  • Prasar Bharati has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Argentina`s public broadcaster, Radio Television Argentina (RTA), to collaborate in broadcasting.
  •  
  • The MoU covers several areas in media and broadcasting that are expected to demonstrate both countries` communication and transmission networks. 
  • In legal, financial, technical, and technological cooperation, India and Argentina have friendly relations and developmental partnerships. The agreement was made in the presence of the Indian Ambassador to Argentina, Dinesh Bhatia, Prasar Bharati CEO Shashi Shekhar Vempati, and RTA President Rosario Lufrano.
  • The Memorandum of Understanding will allow both media systems to increase their cooperation by exchanging programs, formats, and cultural projects and sharing knowledge and experiences in the domains of culture, education, science, entertainment, sports, and news.
  • It also allows for collaboration in areas of mutual interest, such as audiovisual platforms, documentaries, animation, comedies, series, installations, and TV production incentives, to name a few. It also has the potential to expand personnel exchange for training purposes.
