WHO`s Foundation Stone PM Modi Establishes Global Center for Traditional Medicine

 
The World Health Organization established the Global Centre for Traditional Medicine in Gujarat to combine historical methods with modern research in order to realise the full potential of traditional medicine.

  • WHO Director-General Tedros Ghebreyesus astonished everyone by speaking in Hindi during the event. The occasion was attended by Tedros Ghebreyesus, the Director-General of the World Health Organization, and Shri Pravind Kumar Jugnauth, the Prime Minister of Mauritius.
  • Traditional medicine products are increasing worldwide, and the center will go a long way toward realizing traditional medicine`s potential. 
  • The New Centre will place a strong emphasis on data, innovation, and sustainability while also maximizing the use of traditional medicine. The WHO global institute for conventional medicine, he said, is a worldwide enterprise.

Ayushman Bharat-Health & Wellness Centre Scheme Completed 4 Years

 
Mansukh Mandaviya, Union Health Minister, hosted a "Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav" to commemorate Ayushman Bharat-Health and Wellness Centres (AB-HWCs). 
 
Highlights:
 
  • The first AB-HWC was inaugurated on April 14, 2018, in Jangla, a peaceful village in Chhattisgarh`s Bijapur district.
  •  
  • More than 1 lakh AB-HWCs, State Health Ministers, senior officials from all the States and Union Territories, healthcare workers from various hospitals, and development partners attended a virtual meeting organized by Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya to commemorate the fourth anniversary of AB-HWCs.
  • On April 16, 2022, more than 3 lakh teleconsultations were conducted through the AB-HWCs` eSanjeevani platform. This is the most teleconsultations performed every day, breaking the previous record of 1.8 lakh teleconsultations per day.
  • Yoga sessions were held in all AB-HWCs on the second day, April 17, 2022, to highlight health and well-being integration into the service provided at AB-HWCs.
  • The third day begins with the organization of `Block Health Melas` in at least one block in each district of the State/Union Territories from 18 to 22 April (UTs). Each Block Health Mela would last one day and cover every block in the State/UTs.
