 1. India bow out of 2020 Olympic Qualifying tournament

 
In Football, Indian women`s team bowed out of the 2020 Olympic Qualifying tournament in Mandalay on goal difference despite a 3-3 draw against Myanmar eves. 
Both India and Myanmar were on six points from two games but Myanmar enjoyed a better goal difference of (8) compared to  (4) of India.
India had begun their campaign with a victory against  Indonesia 2-0  and thrashed Nepal 3-1 in the second game.
 
2. Singapore Open
 
In badminton, Olympic silver medallist PV Sindhu will spearhead Indian challenge at the Singapore Open. 
Saina Nehwal will also participate in women`s singles and Kidambi Srikanth,   HS Prannoy,  B Sai Praneeth and Sameer Verma in Men`s singles.
In doubles, mixed pair of Pranaav Jerry Chopra and N Sikki Reddy will look for good results. Women`s pair of Ashwini Ponnappa and Sikki Reddy and men`s pair of Manu Attri and B Sumeeth Reddy will also be participating.
 
3. Indian women`s hockey team beat Malaysia, win series 4-0
 
The Indian women`s hockey team beat Malaysia by a solitary goal to complete a 4-0 win in the five-match bilateral series in Kuala Lumpur.
It was Navjot Kaur`s fine field goal in the 35th minute and a good defensive display that helped India win.
 
4. Virat Kohli and Smriti Mandhana named Wisden’sleading  cricketers of the year 2019
 
Wisden Cricketers’ Almanack 2019 has named Virat Kohli and Smriti Mandhana as the Leading male and female cricketer of the year 2019 respectively.
Smriti Mandhana bagged the women’s Leading Cricketer of the year for the first time while Indian men’s team captain was named for the third straight year. The Afghanistan leg-spinner, Rashid Khan, was named the Leading Twenty20 Cricketer for the second successive time.
In 2018, Kohli scored 2735 runs across the three formats and Mandhana scored 669 and 662 runs in ODIs and T20Is respectively, during the course of 2018. Kohli was also chosen as one of the five Wisden Cricketers of the year, along with Jos Buttler, Tammy Beaumont, Rory Burns and Sam Curran.
Wisden Cricketers’ Almanack (“The Bible of Cricket”) is a cricket reference book issued annually in the United Kingdom.  In 1998, an Australian edition of Wisden Cricketers’ Almanack and in 2012, Indian edition was launched. English Cricketer John Wisden established the Book in 1864.
