About Staff Selection Commission Southern Region:
The Staff Selection Commission is currently working under the Personnel & Training Department , of Indian Government . Firstly it was known as Subordinate Services Commission, that was established on 1 July 1976 , mainly to make selection for zonal basis for non-technical Group C posts which comes under the Central Government, except the post for which selection was made by Railway Service Commission as well as by the industrial set up. The working of the Staff Selection Commission has been improved from time to time and now it carries out the selection for Group B posts that are under the Central Government. Hence, the Commission selects for the large part of work force for the Central Government.
The Commission consists of a Chairman, 2 Members and a Secretary-cum-Controller of Examinations. The Office is located at New Delhi. The Commission has a Regional set up to assure the smooth conduct of selection exam by a large center of examination that are located in different areas of the country as per the convenience of the candidates. The Regional Offices of the Commission are controlled by Regional Directors and the Sub Regional Offices by Deputy Directors.

Educational Qualification:
