1) Sports Ministry Grants Recognition to Indian Kalarippayattu Federation as Regional Sports Federation (RSF).
- Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports has recognized the Indian Kalarippayattu Federation as Regional Sports Federation.
- Recognition means granting a major role to the Indian Kalarippayattu Federation (IKF) for promotion and development of Kalarippayattu sport in India.

- Kalarippayattu sport is a Martial art sport that is performed in Southern state of Kerala and in some parts of Tamil Nadu.

2) Hangzhou of China selected to host 2022 Asian Games.
- Hangzhou, capital city of Zhejiang province in East China, was chosen by the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) to host the 2022 Asian Games.
- OCA made the decision at its 34th Congress in Ashkhabad, Turkmenistan.
- Hangzhou is best known for the West Lake, a placid and tourist attraction. It is also home base of Chinese Internet (ecommerce) giant Alibaba.

3) Shot putter Manpreet shatters national record, books Rio berth.
- Railways shot putter Manpreet Kaur shattered an 18-year-old national record en route to a sixth title at the 55th National Open Athletics Championship at Kolkata.
- Patiala-based shot putter broke the record of Harbans Kaur of 17.43 metres that came in 1997 by throwing 17.96 metres in her second attempt to claim the gold medal, a hat-trick of titles at the National Open.
- Manpreet Kaur (25) also qualified for the Rio 2016 Olympics that is scheduled to be held from 5 August to 21 August 2016.
4) India Cements won Moin-ud Dowlah Gold Cup Tournament 2015-16.
- India Cements won the Moin-ud Dowlah Gold Cup Tournament 2015-16 by defeating Hyderabad XI.
- Final match was held at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium in Hyderabad.

5) Five cities officially named as candidates to host 2024 Summer Olympics.
- International Olympic Committee (IOC) announced name of five cities namely Los Angeles, Hamburg, Paris, Rome and Budapest as candidates to host the 2024 Summer Olympics.
- Out of the five cities, Los Angeles and Paris has hosted the games twice. Los Angeles hosted the Olympic Games in 1932 and 1984 while Paris hosted the 1900 and 1924 Olympics.
- Hamburg is the first-time bidder of the Olympic Games.
6) Athletics coach Dr. Nikolai Snesarev sends resignation letter to AFI (Athletics Federation of India).
- Renowned Russian middle and long distance coach Dr. Nikolai Snesarev, whose contract runs till the end of 2016 Rio Olympics, resigned from his position of athletic coach for India.
- He stepped down from the position due to poor infrastructure and a lack of facilities.
- Nikolai Snesarev is acknowledged for the rise of India’s two Olympic prospects Lalita Babar in 3000m steeplechase and OP Jaisa in long distance running.
7) Rahane conferred with CCI`s honorary lifetime membership.
- Cricket Club of India (CCI) conferred honorary life membership on India’s middle-order batting mainstay Ajinkya Rahane and India’s top woman tennis professional Sania Mirza.
- As the members of the club, the recipients will be allowed to use its facilities along with one’s spouse.
- The membership of CCI is a prestigious ownership which is awarded regularly to sportsmen and eminent persons as recognition of their contribution to their respective fields.

8) Shooter Mairaj Khan books Olympics quota.
- Veteran skeet shooter Mairaj Ahmad Khan of his 12-year career when he clinched a Rio Olympics quota place for India at the ongoing ISSF Shotgun World Championship in Lonato, Italy.
- India`s first quota place for the 2016 Olympics in the shotgun disciplines.
- 40-year-old Noida based Mairaj, who hails from Bulandshahr district of Uttar Pradesh, had previously won gold in the men`s Team Skeet event at the 2010 Commonwealth Games in Delhi.
9) 41-year-old Kenyan veteran Kipchumba wins 2015 Beijing Marathon.
- Kenyan veteran Mariko Kipchumba clocked 2 hours 11 minutes to win the 2015 Beijing Marathon, becoming the first non-Ethiopian athlete to win the event since 2011.
- In women’s competition, Ethiopian runner Betelhem Cherenet won the title in 2 hours 27 minutes and 31 seconds.
- Beijing International Marathon held in the Chinese capital Beijing since 1981.
10) Ajay Jayaram wins silver medal in 2015 Korea Open Badminton tournament.
- India’s Ajay Jayaram in the men’s singles won the silver medal in the Korea Open badminton tournament.
- With this win, Jayaram became the first Indian badminton player who grabbed a medal in Korea Open Badminton tournament.
- At present, Jayram is ranked 32nd in the Men`s Singles world ranking.
11) Indian Wushu team won 12 medals at Pars International Cup in Tehran.
- Indian wushu team fetched a rich haul of one gold, four silver and seven bronze medals at the 5th International Pars Wushu Cup in Tehran.
- India’s L. Budhachandra Singh won the gold medal after defeating Masod Ansari of Iran in the final of the 56 kg category, On the other hand, Mukesh Choudhary and Rajani Deori fetched silvers for the country.
12) Richie Richardson to become ICC match referee.
- International Cricket Council (ICC) announced that former West Indies captain Richie Richardson has been appointed to the Elite Panel of ICC Match Referees.
- He will replace Sri Lanka’s Roshan Mahanama.
- Richardson is expected to take over the role at the end of his current assignment as the West Indies cricket team manager.
- The last match to be overseen by him as the manager will be the Sydney test against Australia on 3 January 2016.
