JIPMER (Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research) is the common entrance test being conducted by the Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research, Pondicherry. The institute offers a number of medical and paramedical courses. Candidates who are willing to take admission into the medical courses offered by the JIPMER needs to take up the national level entrance exam “JIPMER”. JIPMER is the competitive entrance test for admission into the medical courses offered by the pioneered institute JIPMER which is based in Puducherry.

 

 JIPMER Paper Pattern

·         For UG courses, JIPMER entrance test consist of 200 objective type questions and the test duration is 150 minutes. The questions will be from the subjects such as English, Biology (Zoology and Botany), Physics and Chemistry.

·         For PG Courses, the entrance examination will be of the standard of MBBS examination. Question paper consists of two parts such as

o    Part I - Basic Clinical Sciences including Anatomy, Physiology, Biochemistry, Pathology, Pharmacology, Microbiology and Forensic Medicine & Toxicology.

o    Part II - Clinical Sciences including Medicine, Surgery, Obstetrics and Gynecology, Community Medicine, Pediatrics, Ophthalmology, Orthopedics, ENT, Anesthesiology, Dermatology, Psychiatry, Radio-diagnosis and Radio-therapy.

o    There shall be only one paper of three hours duration consisting of 250 multiple choice questions in which 100 question from Part I and 150 from Part II.

 Eligibility Criteria for JIPMER

·         Applicant must be an Indian National born on or before January 1, 1996

·         For UG courses, a candidate should have passed / appeared for Higher Secondary Course (10+2) / Equivalent.

·         For PG courses, the candidates must possess MBBS Degree recognized by the Medical Council of India

·         Overseas Citizens of India (OCI) are also eligible.
