About National Institute of Open Schooling or N.I.O.S:

Schooling is the right for every child in this country. The Government of India has emphasized this fact by enacting the Right to Education Bill in the Parliament. However, Schooling does not happen with every child. There are still some under privileged children living in our country who can`t afford the Schooling. Those who have missed their Schooling during their young age, need not worry and there are various modes Open Schooling is available for them in our country.

One of such Open Schooling mode available in India is the National Institute of Open Schooling or N.I.O.S. The National Institute of Open Schooling or N.I.O.S. is an autonomous Organization under the Ministry of Human Resources Development, Government of India. The National Institute of Open Schooling or N.I.O.S. is situated at A-24/25, Sector – 62, Institutional Area, Noida – 201309. The National Institute of Open Schooling is the largest Open Schooling System in the World and it is also an Examination Board of Government of India at par with C.B.S.E. / C.I.S.C.E.

On Demand Examination introduced by N.I.O.S.:

The National Institute of Open Schooling or N.I.O.S. has introduced an Online Admission procedure for On Demand Examination for the students enrolled with it. This Online Admission procedure for On Demand Examination is applicable for Secondary under Stream III and Senior Secondary under Stream IV and it is available round the year – 24 X 7. The details on the Online Admission procedure for On Demand Examination are:

(I) Course – Secondary [Class X] Under Stream III

Eligibility: For Learners who have passed / appeared but could not clear / appear in the Secondary Examination of any School Board.

Age – 15 years as on the date of application.

Fee – Registration – Rs.250/-;

Theory – Rs. 200/- per subject;

Practical – Rs.50/- per subject; and

Transfer of Credit – Rs. 75/- per subject.

(II) Course – Senior Secondary [Class XII] Under Stream IV

Eligibility: For Learners who have passed / appeared but could not clear / appear in the Senior Secondary Examination of any School Board.

Age – 16 years as on the date of application.

Fee – Registration – Rs.250/-

Theory – Rs. 200/- per subject;

Practical – Rs.50/- per subject; and

Transfer of Credit – Rs. 75/- per subject.
