The Andhra Pradesh State committee of Students Federation of India (SFI) demanded that the Central Government withdraw its decision to conduct an exit examination for giving enrolment to MBBS students as medical practitioners and make admissions to PG medical courses on the basis of merit in that test.

SFI State president Y. Ramu stated in a press release that the proposed examination would be a big burden on the students who spent huge sums on medical education. If the government failed to shelve its proposal, a bandh would be organised on February 1, he warned.
