INTRODUCTION

The University of Reading is inviting applications for international research studentships. International (non-EU) candidates are eligible to apply.

The aim of the scholarship is to enable and encourage academically able students from any nationality.

The University of Reading is a public university located in Reading, Berkshire, United Kingdom. It was established in 1892 as University College, Reading and received its Royal Charter in 1926 from King George V. It was the only university to receive its charter between the two world wars and is therefore a red brick university.

Candidates will be required to meet the language requirements specified by their department upon entry.

COURSE AND ELIGIBILITY

Studentships are available for PhD research programme at the University of Reading.
The full prize studentship is available for research in any area within the Faculties listed above.
The six fees-only studentships can only be awarded to those applicants whose proposed research falls within one of the following themes:
  • Environment
  • Food
  • Health
  • Prosperity & Resilience
  • Heritage & Creativity
  • Please note that these themes are intended to be broadly interpreted across subject areas.
    Funding is only open to international (non-EU) candidates. Candidates will be required to meet the language requirements specified by their department upon entry.

PAY PACKAGE

One full prize studentship offering:
  • a subsistence grant (stipend) to match the 2017/8 UK Research Council rate (the 2016/17 rate is Ã?£14,296)
  • tuition fees at the International rate
  • a Ã?£1,000 p.a. training and development allowance
Six fees-only studentships, each one offering:
  • tuition fees at the International rate
  • a Ã?£1,000 p.a. training and development allowance
  • All awards are for up to three years in duration.
Scholarship can be taken in the UK
