INTRODUCTION

Swiss National Science Foundation is offering fellowships for doctoral students who wish to enhance their scientific profile by working at a research institution abroad. These fellowships are awarded for a minimum of 6 months up to a maximum of 18 months. These fellowships include a grant towards living costs, a flat-rate for travel expenses and if justified, a contribution towards research and conference costs as well as matriculation fees. Mandated by the federal government, the Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF) supports basic science in all academic disciplines, from history to medicine and the engineering sciences. The SNSF is Switzerlands foremost research funding organisation and finances over 3,200 projects involving 14,800 researchers each year.

Swiss nationality, permanent residence, residence or cross-border commuter permit, or marriage resp. registered partnership with a Swiss . Activity of no less than 12 months at a research institution in Switzerland (for applicants who do not hold Swiss nationality)

CAREER PROSPECTS

How to Apply: Applications must be submitted via the mySNF platform. Applications need to be submitted to The SNSF Research Commission of the Swiss higher education institution where the applicant is enrolled as a doctoral student; The SNSF Fellowship Commission if the applicant is completing his/her doctorate at a university abroad
