Sanskriti Foundation conduct for Kalakriti Fellowship in Delhi

INTRODUCTION

It is said that this world is like an eternal Banyan tree. Its roots are up in the heavens and its branches are spread downward. Its leaves are hymns. One who knows this tree is well versed in the knowledge. Its branches, nourished by the triple attributes of Nature, are spread upward and downward. Its tender leaves are sense objects. Its roots, which fetter the soul according to ones deeds, are also spread above and below in all directions.

COURSE AND ELIGIBILITY

The Fellowship is only open to Indian Nationals in the age group of 25 to 40. While this fellowship specially encourages women applicants, all proposals that further the objectives of the program are welcome. The candidate should have at least ten years of initial training in Indian classical dance. The fellow would be required to have given at least 2 �­3 solo performances to his/her credit in recognized forums. The candidate will be required to take guidance from another senior guru and enhance the existing style. It would be a residency programme for a period of three months, which can be spread over the period of ten months. This will require the candidate to take consent from her current guru and the guru he/she would want to go to.

CAREER PROSPECTS

The Sanskriti Pratishthan invites applications for its annual Sanskriti - Kalakriti Fellowship in Performing Arts from young performing artists who wish to contribute towards enriching their respective art form. The scheme will be managed by the Sanskriti Pratishthan, which has been giving similar awards over the past 25 years.

PAY PACKAGE

The duration of the Fellowship will be ten months. The grant of Rs. 50,000 will be given in two installments. The first installment of Rs 25,000/- will be given at the commencement of the fellowship programme and a short mid-term progress report will be required.
