A STAR India Youth Scholarship
INTRODUCTION
The A*STAR India Youth Scholarship is for four years leading to the award of the Singapore-Cambridge General Certificate of Education ?Advanced? (GCE ?A?) Level (or equivalent) certificate. This scholarship is to study in singapore (at selected Schools) from Secondary Three to Pre-University Two. This A star scholarship has to renew annually. The renewal is subject to the satisfactory performance of the scholar.
COURSE AND ELIGIBILITY
Eligibility for A Star Scholarship Singapore
Students who meet the following criteria are invited to apply for the A Star Scholarship :
# Nationals of India
# Born between 1993 and 1995 in the year of application (2009)
# Completed Standard 8 in the Year 2009
# Possess outstanding academic track record (at least an average of 80% with English as first language in the Standard 7 and 8 school examinations
# Possess a high level of oral and written competency in English

PAY PACKAGE
# Allowance of S$2,200 (Secondary) / S$2,400 (Pre-University) per annum with hostel accommodation
# Settling-in allowance of S$400 (once only)
# Economy class air passage to Singapore and back to home country upon completion of course
# Waiver of school fees (excluding miscellaneous fees)
# Waiver of GCE ?O? and ?A? Level examination fees (once only, if applicable)
# Subsidised medical benefits and accident insurance cover
