UCL SSEES Undergraduate Centenary Scholarships in UK, 2017-2018

INTRODUCTION

The University College London, School of Slavonic and East European Studies (SSEES) is offering two Centenary Scholarships for home students (UK and Republic of Ireland Domiciled). These scholarships are awarded to study undergraduate programme for 2017 intake. The UCL SSEES is the worlds leading institution for research and teaching in Russia, the Baltics, and Central, Eastern and South-East Europe. The Schools mission is to foster cross-disciplinary approaches to area studies, using expertise in our primary geographical region to generate knowledge and understanding of the broader world. If students first language is not English they must be able to provide recent evidence that their spoken and written command of the English language is adequate for the programmes for which they have applied.

COURSE AND ELIGIBILITY

Scholarships are available for pursuing undergraduate BA programme. Scholarships are awarded for Slavonic and East European Studies. Applicants should . Hold an offer of admission to UCL for full-time undergraduate study on an SSEES programme (one scholarship will be awarded to support study on one of our BA in Languages and Culture and one scholarship for study any other of the SSEES programmes); . Be in financial need, and be able to demonstrate that without the scholarship they would be unable to study at UCL. Nationality: Home Students (UK and Republic of Ireland Domiciled) are eligible to apply.

PAY PACKAGE

The scholarship is worth �£3,000 per annum and scholars may choose to use all or part of the scholarship to cover fees. Any remainder is paid to the scholar as a maintenance stipend. The scholarship is for one year in the first instance but will be renewed subject to satisfactory academic progress, for up to a total of three years. The scholarship may be held alongside other grants, bursaries, awards or scholarships, provided annual total funding does not exceed the cost of fees plus a reasonable sum for maintenance in any one year (as determined by UCL).
