INTRODUCTION

The Ministry of Minority Affairs was carved out of Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment and created on 29th January, 2006 to ensure a more focused approach towards issues relating to the notified minority communities namely Muslim, Christian, Budhist, Sikhs, Parsis and Jain. The mandate of the Ministry includes formulation of overall policy and planning, coordination, evaluation and review of the regulatory framework and development programmes for the benefit of the minority communities.

CAREER PROSPECTS

Merit-cum Means based Scholarship Scheme (MCM) is a Central Sector Scheme from 2014-15 with 100% Central funding. Under the scheme, Scholarships are awarded to the meritorious students from notified minority communities viz. Muslims, Christians. Sikhs, Buddhists, Zoroastrians (Parsis) and Jains, pursuing professional and technical courses, at under-graduate and post-graduate levels in Institutions recognized by the appropriate authority. who have secured not less than 50% marks or equivalent grade in the previous final examination and the annual income of whose parents/guardian, from all sources does not exceed Rs. 2.50 lakh.

PAY PACKAGE

The Community-wise Physical allocation are enclosed for Fresh Scholarship in respect of your State /UT under the Scheme of Merit-cum Means based Scholarship along with Timeline for the financial year 2016-17.
