Equal Rights Trust MENA Region Legal Research Fellowship in UK, 2016

INTRODUCTION

Applications are invited for MENA Region Legal Research Fellowship to gain experience of research, advocacy and litigation in the area of equality and non-discrimination. The Fellowship is offered for a 3-6 month period (which may be extended). Fellows will receive a stipend of £2000 (three months) or £4,000 (six months). The Equal Rights Trust is an independent international organization combating discrimination and advancing equality worldwide. They promote a unified human rights framework on equality, approaching each aspect of inequality in the context of other relevant aspects and developing strategies for translating the principles of equality into practice.

COURSE AND ELIGIBILITY

The following criteria must be met in order for applicants to be eligible for this fellowship: Strong knowledge of international human rights law evidenced through an undergraduate or graduate degree in a relevant discipline and/or relevant experience. Fluent written and spoken English and Arabic. Strong research skills. Ability to produce written material in a clear, coherent and persuasive manner. Knowledge of equality and non-discrimination law and best practice is a strong advantage. The position will be based in the Trusts London office although we are happy to consider requests for flexibility. All applicants must have the right to undertake a Fellowship in the UK.

CAREER PROSPECTS

This is a 3 to 6 months long fellowship program. Fellowship is awarded in the area of equality and non-discrimination. Scholarship can be taken in the UK Applicants from the UK are eligible to apply for this fellowship.
