Description:
Newcastle University (NU), UK is offering International UG Merit Scholarships (IUMS) for students pursuing their undergraduate degree programs for the session 2016-17. To receive awards applicants must become registered students at Newcastle University in the 2016/17 academic year for a full-time, award-bearing undergraduate program lasting at least one year.
Scholarship Details:
. Newcastle University offers a large number of partial scholarship awards each year to assist international undergraduate students with good qualifications study for a degree.
. The partial scholarship has a value of �£1,500 for the first year of study.
COURSE AND ELIGIBILITY
Eligibility Criteria:
. Applicants must be assessed as international (overseas) for fees purposes.
. International students must have:
. Applied through UCAS by 30 April and been offered a place to study on one of our degree programs for 2016/17 entry,
. Been assessed as overseas for fees purposes,
. Already achieved or will achieve an agreed level of academic performance in their pre-university qualifications,
. Already accepted or will accept Newcastle University as their first choice university.
. Applicants for the MBBS and BDS programs are not eligible to receive IUMS awards.
. Note: Scholarships will not be confirmed unless applicants satisfy all conditions related to their scholarship offer, even if they are still accepted to study at Newcastle University.

Selection Procedure:
. The university awards Scholarships on the basis of academic merit and other information on the UCAS form.
. Offers for IUMS awards will be made for a minimum of AAA at A level (or equivalent) for Medical Sciences and Humanities and Social Sciences Faculties and AAB at A level (or equivalent) for the Science, Agriculture and Engineering Faculty regardless of admissions criteria set: if admissions requirements exceed the above grades IUMS offers will automatically be set at the same higher level.
