WOMEN SCIENTISTS SCHEME (WOS-A) OPPORTUNITY TO UNDERTAKE RESEARCH IN MATHEMATICAL SCIENCES

INTRODUCTION

DST has been running a special scheme called the Women Scientists Schema (WOS-A) with a view to revive the break in careers of women, arising out of motherhood and family responsibilities. The scheme enables women to revive their professional pursuits by returning into the mainstream. The women scientists are provided flexibility to undertake research at a suitable institution (universities, educational institutions, R&D laboratories, registered societies undertaking research work in S&T etc.),. Financial assistance in the form of annual grant is provided to the selected women under the scheme to carry out their research work. The financial assistance covers Research Fellowship, consumables. Travel. Contingencies, Minor Equipments and Institutional overhead.

Candidates for consideration under the above scheme are advised to visit the DST website at www.dst.gov.in or www.serc-dst.org for the details of the scheme and eligibility criteria.
