Postdoctoral Research Fellowships - February 2015 A unique opportunity for research in Nanoscience and Nanotechnology Institute of Nano Science and Technology (INST) has been set up at Mohali in Punjab as an autonomous institution focusing on R&D of specific areas in Nano Science and Technology leading to new phenomena, processes, products and devices
COURSE AND ELIGIBILITY
Eligibility
The applicants should either hold a PhD degree in Science or Engineering or should have submitted the PhD thesis with strong research interest in Nano Science and Technology, proven research competence corresponding to their equivalents in the best institution of the world and should have a very good academic record Applicants should be below 40 years of age as on last date of receipt of applications The candidates should possess capabilities of becoming independent investigators in future Candidates with PhD and background in Physics, Chemistry, Agriculture and Engineering aspects of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology would be preferred in this round of selection

Details of Fellowships
The fellowships carries a consolidated monthly stipend of Rs 35,000/- besides a contingency grant of Rs 1,00,000/- per annum The postdoctoral fellowship is for a period of 3 years reviewed annually Candidates who have submitted the PhD thesis but are yet to be awarded the PhD degree, if selected, will be paid Rs 25,000/- per month till the award of the degree

Interested candidates meeting above requirements may apply for these positions in the prescribed application form which can be downloaded from INSTs website http://www.inst.ac.in/careers.html Application should accompany i) one page synopsis of PhD thesis, ii) two-page write up of a suitable research proposal, iii) a brief bio date and iv) self-attested copies of all testimonials Applications should be sent by email to postdoc@inst.ac.in which will be treated as advance copy However, two hard copies of the application will have to be sent to the Director, Institute of Nano Science and Technology, Phase-X, Sector - 64, Mohali-160062 (Punjab) and should reach INST hrough Registered/Speed Post by 14th November 2014 Applications received after the due date shall not be entertained in any case The envelope containing the application should be superscribed as "Application for the Postdoctoral Research Fellowships-February 2015" Incomplete applications or applications without requisite enclosures shall summarily be rejected Mode of Selection The applications will be evaluated by a shortlisting committee. Shortlisted candidates will be called for interview for further assessment by a Selection Committee Outstation candidates called for interview will be paid 2nd class railway (non-AC)/bus fare by the shortest route from the present address given in application form subject to production of tickets Shortlisted candidates will be asked to bring their original certificate (B.Sc., M.Sc., M.Tech, Ph.D, NOC from present employer) at the time of the interview The shortlisted candidates should be required to request three referees to sent their confidential evaluation directly to postdoc@inst.ac.in without which, the candidature shall be considered Deadline Applications from interested students should reach INST through Registered / Speed Post by 14th November 2014
