Banting Postdoctoral Fellowships Program In Canada
INTRODUCTION
The Banting Postdoctoral Fellowships Program will be distinguished from existing postdoctoral fellowships programs by its emphasis on:
* the synergy between an applicants individual merit and potential to launch a successful research-intensive career; and
* the host institutions commitment to the research program and environment with which the applicant is to be affiliated.
COURSE AND ELIGIBILITY
These prestigious two-year fellowships, worth $70,000 per year, are open to both Canadian and international researchers who have recently completed a PhD, PhD-equivalent, or health professional degree. Seventy fellowships will be awarded each year.
CAREER PROSPECTS
Successful applicants for the Banting Postdoctoral Fellowships Program will be selected on the basis of three criteria:
. research excellence and leadership in their area of expertise or research;
. quality of the applicants proposed research program; and
. institutional commitment and demonstrated synergy between applicant and institutional strategic priorities.
PAY PACKAGE
All applicants, without exception, must submit their completed applications by the program deadline of November 3, 2010. This includes input from the host institution and all referee letters.
