Dr.Babasaheb Ambedkar National Institute Of Social Science
INTRODUCTION
The Institute invites applications for admission to one year M.Phil Programme of study in Social Sciences with core papers in Research Methodology , and Dr. Ambedkars Thought and Contemporary Socio-economic issues of Indian Society , and two optional papers .Life and Philosophy of Dr.Ambedkar ; The Development of Scheduled Castes , Scheduled Tribes and Other Backward Classes , Rural Development , Women and Child Development ,Social Development and Justice. Besides, the candidate will be required to write a dissertation in one of the related topics to be decided by the Institute.
On the basis of availability of seats, the admission to Ph.D with fellowship will also be considered by the Institute.
COURSE AND ELIGIBILITY
A post graduate degree in any subject from a recognized university under faculties of Social Sciences , Education and Law , Women and Child Development in the Faculty of Home Science, and Philosophy in the Faculty of Humanities with a minimum of 55% marks or equivalent grade. There will be a relaxation of 5% marks for SC/ST candidates. The candidates appearing for post graduation final eamination 2004 can also apply. A candidate who has already done M.Phil will not be eligible. JRF awardees may apply for admission but need not appear for entrance test.
CAREER PROSPECTS
Total seats are 32 ( 27 seats with fellowship and 5 seats are to be filled in by sponsored candidates without fellowship on merit). Reservation for SC, ST, OBC and girls will be as per M.P.Govt. rules. Hostel facility is available for both boys and girls separately, subject to availability of seats.
PAY PACKAGE
For M.Phil Rs. 1,000/- p.m. and contingency of Rs.1,000/- per year, likely to be revised shortly.
