About NRCPB:
National Research Centre on Plant Biotechnology (NRCPB) is a premiere research institution of the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR). The institute was founded in 1985 as the ‘Biotechnology Centre’ of Indian Agricultural Research Institute (IARI) for molecular biology and biotechnology research in crop plants. The prescience of the role of biotechnology in agriculture led to a bigger responsibility for this centre and it was elevated as National Research Centre on Plant Biotechnology in the year 1993.

Educational Qualification:
Ph.D. in bioinformatics/ allied life Science Or MSc./M.Tech in bioinformatics/Allied Science with 4 to 5 years bachelor degree having 1 st division or 60% marks in equivalent overall grade point average at least two years of research experience as evident from Fellowship Associateship. For candidate having 03 years, Bachelor degree course NET/GATE is a must. Desirable: 02 years research experience in genome sequencing, NGS data analysis being high throughput DNA/RNA sequencing/ small RNA sequencing with an evidence of publication in reputed journal above 2 IF journal.
