About Krishi Vigyan Kendra Gir Somnath:
Agriculture is a dynamic field marked by new technological advances. This Krishi Vigyan Kendra (Farm Science Center) has been supporting farming communities for enhancing and sustaining their livelihoods by promotion of varied intervention in sphere of agro based livelihoods. ICAR sanctioned this KVK in year 2007 to Ambuja Cement Foundation (ACF) and thereafter recruited staff with fully functionalized since June 2008 at Kodinar for District Junagadh including newly formed Gir Somnath District of Gujarat state to ensure that farmers are abreast with technological advances for all agricultural needs.

Educational Qualification:
a)For Disciplines other than Engineering: subject Doctoral degree in relevant subject including relevant basic sciences with 8 years experience in relevant subject Scientist/Lecturer/Extension Specialist or in an equivalent position the pay band -3 of Rs. 15600-39100 with Grade pay of Rs.5400/ Rs.6000/ Rs.7000/Rs.8000 having made contribution to research/teaching/extension education as evidence by published work/innovations and impact.
b)For Engineering discipline: Doctoral degree in Agricultural engineering subject with 6 years experience as Scientist/Lecturer/Extension Specialist or in an equivalent position in the pay band - 3 of Rs. 15600-39100 with Grade pay of Rs.5400/ Rs.6000/Rs.7000/Rs.8000 having made contribution to research/teaching/extension education as evidence by published work/innovative and impact.
