About Mahalanobis National Crop Forecast Centre:
Mahalanobis National Crop Forecast Centre (MNCFC) is an attached office of Department of Agriculture & Cooperation, Ministry of Agriculture,Government of India. It was inaugurated on 23rd April, 2012 by Hon`ble Agriculture Minister. The Centre has been established to provide in-season crop forecasts and assessment of drought situation using state of the art techniques and methodologies developed by Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO).

Educational Qualification:
M.Sc./M.Tech/ M.Sc. (Tech) in Remote Sensing & GIS/ Geomatics/ Geoinformatics with at least 1 Year experience, post master’s degree, in Remote Sensing data analysis (preferably in the field of agriculture) or Crop Yield Modelling. M.Sc. Agriculture/ M. Sc. Environmental Science with at least 1 year experience, post M.Sc., in Remote Sensing data analysis or Crop Modelling. M.Sc./M. Tech/ M.Sc. (Tech) in Remote Sensing & GIS/ Geomatics/ Geoinformatics having Bachelor Degree (in Physics/ Mathematics/ Agriculture/ Engineering) with at least 1 Year experience in Remote Sensing & GIS data analysis, preferably in Microwave remote sensing.
