Mangaluru Plastic Park Construction Approved:

The Karnataka government has recently approved the development of a plastic park in Ganjimutt, Managaluru.

Highlights:

  • The KIADB will establish a special purpose vehicle under its control to carry out the project. KIADB is also a major supporter.
  • The park`s construction will cost Rs 62.77 crores. It will be built on land owned by the Karnataka Industrial Areas Development Board (KIADB).
  • As a result of the park, hundreds of jobs will be created for local children.
  • A polypropylene unit will be installed in the park. This facility will provide raw materials to the park`s polymer and plastics businesses.
  • Thermoplastic polymer Thermoplastic polymer polypropylene It is mostly used in the production of plastic packaging.
  • Furthermore, the park will help to reduce transportation costs. This is because the park will be home to 32 businesses.
  • Entrepreneurs from other districts are also welcome. The park will include, among other things, an administrative building, an export building, and a warehouse facility.

Funds And Concerns

  • The federal government will contribute half of the total estimated cost of 62.77 crores, or 31.38 crores. The remaining 50 percent will be borne by the KIADB.
  • The Central Government`s Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers has established project implementation criteria.
  • If the work is not completed within three months, the funds will be redistributed to other projects that are eligible.

Plastic Park Scheme

  • Plastic parks are industrial zones. They are critical to the growth of machinery suppliers, as well as plastic manufacturing, recycling, and processing businesses.
  • Tamont village in Madhya Pradesh, Billaua village in Gwalior, Odisha, Pradeep village near Jagatsinghpur, Assam, Devipur in Jharkhand, and Voyallur in Tamil Nadu`s Thiruvallur district have all established plastic parks.
  • India accounts for less than 1% of global plastic exports. India has a sizable plastics industry. However, it is severely fractured. The plastic parks will aid in the consolidation of the industry.
Netaji Hologram Statue:
 
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will finally reveal a hologram statue of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose near Delhi`s India Gate.
 
Highlights:
  • On Netaji`s 125th birthday, the statue was unveiled. He celebrates his birthday on January 23rd.
  • The statue is powered by 4k projectors that produce 30,000 lumens of light. These projectors cost about 15 lakh rupees.
  • Their projected area measures 13 by 13 feet. The statue stands 28 feet tall and 6 feet wide. The technology necessitates the use of a screen in addition to a projector.
  • Visitors are unable to see the screen. The hologram statue will stand in place of King George V of England`s statue. In 1968, the statue was demolished.
  • Netaji`s birth anniversary is known as Parakram Divas. It is celebrated on January 23rd. It was discovered in 2021.
  • In Tripura, Assam, Jharkhand, and West Bengal, Netaji`s birthday is observed as a state holiday.
Hologram:
  • An image is created by hologram technology. The image is projected in a way that makes it appear real. Furthermore, the image appears three-dimensional.
 

Ministry of Culture To Release Books On 75 Unsung Heroes

 
The Ministry of Culture will release three pictorial books on 75 unsung heroes of the independence struggle as part of the Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav.
 
Highlights:
 
  • The illustrated books will be published in collaboration with "Amar Chitra Katha."
  • These books will highlight the contributions of women, specifically Rani Abbakka, Parbati Giri, Matangini Hazra, Chakali Ilamma, and others.
  • The book honours the lives of the women who led the charge and sparked a firestorm of protest and rebellion across the country.
  • It tells the stories of queens who fought against the British. These women dedicated and sacrificed their lives in order to explain the motherland.
  • These books will be available in digital format for free on the Amar Chitra Katha app.
  • The series` second edition is currently in the works. It will tell the stories of 25 unheralded tribal freedom fighters.
  • The third and final volume of the series will feature the stories of 30 unsung heroes.
First Edition
 
On January 28, 2022, Union Minister Meenakshi Lekhi launched the series` primary in Delhi.
 
The first section is dedicated to twenty women whose contributions have gone unnoticed. Among the 20 women are:
 
Rani Abbakka: She was Ullal`s primary Tuluva Queen. In the latter half of the 16th century, she fought against the Portuguese.
 
Matangini Hazra: She was a Bengali nationalist. She was shot by British Indian police in September 1942.
 
Chakali Ilamma: During the Telangana region`s rebellion, her act of defiance against the local zamindar inspired many.
 
Parbati Giri: Teresa of western Odisha is her nickname. She was a significant female insurgent from Odisha.
 
Gulab Kaur: She was an insurgent who gave up her dreams of living abroad in order to mobilise Indians against the British Raj.
 
Padmaja Naidu: She was the rebellious daughter of Sarojini Naidu. She went on to become the Governor of West Bengal.
 
Bishni Devi Shah: She persuaded many people in Uttarakhand to join the liberty movement.
