Exercise Kavach to be held under Andaman and Nicobar Command:

In the Andaman Sea and the Bay of Bengal, the Indian army will conduct large-scale joint military exercises. Under the auspices of the Andaman and Nicobar headquarters, the exercise will be performed.

Highlights:
♦ The Indian Navy, Indian Army, Indian Air Force and Indian Coast Guard will be included in the joint military exercise Kavach.
♦ During the exercise, high-density offensive and defensive measures in the Andaman Sea and the Bay of Bengal would be enforced by the joint force. Moreover, amphibious landing operations will be carried out, with helicopters carrying maritime special forces and, eventually, tactical follow-up operations on the ground.
♦ This is for the three Indian powers to change their joint fighting capabilities. Organized air and sea strikes, coordinated implementations of maritime surveillance assets, air defence and landing operations will also be included in the Kavach exercise.
♦ A joint intelligence surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR) exercise will also be conducted in addition to the Kavach Exercise. The intelligence collection capabilities will be checked by ISR. Furthermore, data sharing capabilities from space, ground, air and sea will be confirmed.
♦ Intelligence and surveillance missions were allocated to the Heron unmanned aerial vehicle of the Indian Air Force. The Heron fleet of UAVs was bought from Israel. The ground ISR capabilities of India include Daksh. Daksh is a ground sensor which is remote. The artillery regiment uses Israeli-assisted SATA. SATA is a tracking and target acquisition searcher.
♦ The "Black Hornet" drone is used by the National Security Guard for reconnaissance purposes. To increase the role of its ISR, India will concentrate on helicopters, drones and aircraft.
♦ ELINT (Electronic Intelligence) and SAR have been developed by China (Synthetic Aperture Radar). SAR covers a small region, while the surveillance and reconnaissance intelligence exercises covered by ELINT are broader.
