Dharmendra Pradhan participates in 2019 ADIPEC:

Shri Dharmendra Pradhan, the Union Minister of Petroleum & Natural Gas and Steel, has embarked a three-day visit to the UAE from 10-12 November 2019. He is visiting the UAE upon the invitation by the UAE Minister of State and CEO, ADNOC Dr. Sultan Ahmad Al Jaber. Dharmendra Pradhan was invited to participate in the Inaugural Ministerial Session of Abu Dhabi International Petroleum Exhibition & Conference (ADIPEC) on 11 November 2019 and also in a Ministerial Panel Discussion on the same day.

Agenda:

♦ Mr. Pradhan, along with Dr. Sultan Ahmad Al Jaber, jointly inaugurated the India Pavilions set up by the Directorate General of Hydrocarbons (DGH), Federation of Indian Petroleum Industry (FIPI), and Confederation of Indian Industry (CII). 

♦ The DGH is to conduct a Roadshow to attract foreign investment by global oil and gas majors in India’s Exploration & Production (E&P) and other areas in the oil and gas sector.

♦ Mr. Pradhan will hold talks with H.E. Suhail Mohamed Faraj Al Mazrouei, Minister of Energy and Industry, and H.E. Dr. Sultan Ahmad Al Jaber, Minister of State and ADNOC Group CEO. The ministers will discuss issues of bilateral hydrocarbon and steel sectors that are engaged within the overall framework of the India-UAE Strategic Partnership.

♦ Pradhan will also hold discussions with the Ministers participating in ADIPEC-2019. He will also use the occasion to explore opportunities for steel exports to the Middle East countries.

ADIPEC 2019:

ADIPEC 2019 is organized under the patronage of H.H.Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE. The conference is being hosted by the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC). It will be held from 10-14 November 2019, at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC). ADIPEC is the most influential global conference in the oil and gas sector. Over 1,45,000 participants, including Government Ministers, global industry CEOs, policymakers, and leading energy companies, will be participating in the conference.

India, Russia to hold the first Bilateral Regional Forum next year:

India and Russia have planned to hold the first Bilateral Regional Forum at the level of Russian Provinces and the Indian States in 2020. The aim is to dismantle the barriers of trade at the regional level. It was decided at a meeting between PM Narendra Modi and President Vladimir Putin in Brasilia on the sidelines of BRICS Summit. 

Highlights of the meeting:

♦ PM Modi agreed to visit Moscow for the Victory Day parade in May 2020. 

♦ Both leaders reviewed the progress made in the bilateral relationship since PM Modi`s visit to Vladivostok.

♦ President Putin and PM Modi showed their satisfaction as the countries already set a $25 billion target of bilateral trade by 2025. 

♦ They marked the stability and progress made in imports of oil and natural gas. 

♦ President Putin highlighted the potential of the Arctic region in natural gas and invited India to invest in the region.

♦ They reviewed the progress made by India in the field of Infrastructure, especially in the railway sector, by raising the speed of the Nagpur-Secunderabad sector railway line. 

♦ The leaders discussed the cooperation in the Defence sector and in the field of Civil Nuclear Energy.
