GATE 2014 Examination will be held in 2 sessions. The first session will be held from 9 am to 12pm while the afternoon session will be held from 2pm to 5pm.

The session allotment will be done on a random basis by GATE 2014 administration.

The Admit Card can only be downloaded from the zonal GATE websites from 18th December 2013. Admit Cards will not be sent by post/email. Candidates can bring a print-out of the downloaded Admit Card to the Test Center along with the original and valid photo identification (NO photocopy / scanned copy/NOT expired).

Several public sector undertakings (PSUs) has signed MoUs with GATE for using GATE 2014 score as screening tool for recruiting engineers at entry level positions.

The companies which will use GATE 2014 include Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd, Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd, Indian Oil Corporation Ltd., Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd., Vizag Steel Plant, GAIL (INDIA) Limited among others.
